A city - a glass cube - a black box - the embodiment of an idea

At some point in the preliminary design planning process, the client and the architects were faced with the question: Of which colour should the 118 m long concrete cube inside the glass body – which is actually called the black box – be? Reaction of the architect Roberto Gonzalez Penalver: Blackbox? – Black, of course!

Light installation by the New York artist Lucy Raven

The light installation made of differently coloured glass that can be slid into each other invites playful interaction with the colour spectra of the sunlight breaking through the museum façade.
